East Kent Morris Men perform men's Cotswold Morris dances. We wear red, white and blue uniform to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II coronation in 1953, the year we were founded. Cotswold style is with bells and sticks or handkerchiefs. The Cotswold villages of Adderbury, Badby, Bampton, Brackley, Bucknell, Fieldtown, Headington and Ilmington name the different traditions which we perform. We also perform eight-man dances from Lichfield in Staffordshire, a violent stick dance from Upton-on-Severn and a North Skelton Longsword dance. Dances are selected for two reasons. We need to enjoy them and we want the audience to enjoy them too. We put together a suitable programme, usually of two twenty minute sets, which meets this aim . | ||||
